Natural Playground Design - Wild at Heart Day Nursery, Driffield

Newby Leisure have recently had the pleasure of returning to the fabulous Wild at Heart Day Nursery, to complete another natural space for their little ones.

Taking a similar approach to their previous design, we kept this area as natural as possible to match the aesthetic of their forest school, and other natural gardens.

We divided this space into three different sections, each one fenced/gated to ensure safety of toddlers and babies at all times.

These areas consist of physical play, construction play and a MUGA.

Making the most of out the space!

In the physical play space, we installed a bespoke timber tower unit into a bed of bark, for a cushioned surface. This unit is inclusive of a slide, steps, net and bridge; fantastic for boosting physical activity!

Divided using mystical fencing with coloured lexan windows, to the right of the timber tower, we created a space for construction play.

Within that area, we incorporated a timber play unit, gravel/cobbles and some giant, timber scales. The perfect space for children to get little ones thinking scientifically!

As well as the above, we added a multi-use games area, which is suitable for soft play and ball games, and also added a nash shelter to an existing space.
