New year, new playground!
In the final weeks of 2024, our team completed the installation of this fantastic natural playground design for Wybers Wood Academy.
Working alongside the wonderful Delta Trust, together, we created an outdoor play and learning environment for the early years children.
Starting from scratch, it was decided to take almost everything from the previous playground and replace it with new. New surfacing, new resources and more…
With it being in an enclosed space, it was decided to break the area up into sections, using different types of surfacing.
We added artificial grass, stone bound resin, block paving and also a barked area. Not only do these all serve different purposes, but they also bring elements of colour and texture to the playground. Fantastic for boosting sensory play!
Here at Newby Leisure, we're keen on making our designs versatile and fulfilling in order to get the most from your outdoor area. This is why we have included a variety of resources, enabling children to engage in all genres of play.
The resources included fall under the categories of sand, water, construction, physical, sensory, natural and role play. There is something for everyone within this space!
Not only did we use freestanding resources, but we also installed a bespoke timber, tower unit. This is great for multiple children to play together, whilst building their physical abilities.
