The newest home of sensory and adventure! Garton on the Wolds Primary School has all your sensory needs within one, exciting, new playground design.
From start to finish, we injected colour and texture into this early years, outdoor play environment.
Consisting of timber play resources, multiple surface options and an outdoor classroom, the educational benefits are endless in this sensory garden!
Whilst working alongside the team at Garton on the Wolds, it was decided to feature a lot of sensory elements throughout the playground, to aid gross and fine motor skills for early years education.
To succeed with this, our skilled team of joiners designed and manufactured bespoke sensory panels to be mounted to the new fencing surrounding the area.
These panels are inclusive of a variety of textures, colours and materials, allowing children to explore with their senses, stimulating brain development whilst doing so.
Other sensory structures within the playground include a sensory pod and a coloured roof shelter with bench seating. Both of these offer fantastic play values and are great for both learning and teaching outdoors!
This adventurous, outdoor play design has been finished with both artificial grass with block edging and stone bound resin in an earth mix; both injecting further colour and texture into the playground. These surfacing options are durable, making them suitable for many years of outdoor play.
Within this design, we have installed a fantastic water feature. Not only does this look great, but it also creates a positive and tranquil environment for the children.
To finalise the space, we incorporated a bespoke storage shed, large enough to store lots of playground equipment, and also plenty of freestanding resources. We are pretty certain that lots of fun will be had in this playground!
