Non-stop fun and adventure are now a part of the daily routine for the little ones at Long Sutton!
Newby Leisure have transformed the school's outdoor area into a natural playground environment to help aid outdoor education for early years.
We have utilised the space to its full potential by incorporating all elements of play and learning within one, free-flowing zone.
Within this wonderous space, we included an assortment of freestanding, timber play resources; all designed to increase outdoor learning through play.
The product selection included the following: Super-Size Mud Kitchen, Coloured Teepee, Mark Making Table with Seating, Builders Yard, Large Table, H Shaped Water Wall, Three Tier Storage Unit and more.
As you can see by the choice of resources listed, there is plenty of options for each child to enjoy at play time.
As well as freestanding resources, we also installed some fantastic features within this new, outdoor learning environment. One of these being a Clamber Stack.
Clamber Stacks are brilliant for improving a child’s upper body and overall physical development. Not only are they beneficial for health reasons, but they are also great fun!
Children love to clamber, climb and crawl, and this robust apparatus allows them to do just that.
Alongside physical play, we also added a bespoke sand play unit. Sand play promotes physical development and improves hand-eye co-ordination.
This large playground structure will also encourage teamwork, improving social skills whilst doing so.
In other areas, we installed a sail shade shelter, with tables and seating underneath. The perfect spot for children to sit outdoors in the shade, protected from the sun.
To finish off the space, we incorporated different surfacing throughout. Each one used to suit each element of play, to ensure that they are safe, and durable.
Having the correct surfacing for your playground important for child safety. Laid with care and attention to detail, Newby Leisure use only the best materials.
Surfacing used throughout this outdoor play environment includes artificial grass, stone resin, new pour and also block paving within a path of interest. Providing not only safety and high quality, but also adding colour and texture to the playground; which is great for sensory development within early years education.
