Now this is what you call a transformation! From a completely empty space, to an outdoor play environment full of adventure; this playground is fun and educational for early years!
Keeping it as natural as possible throughout, this rustic play space will keep the children of Kids Planet entertained for hours on end.
To begin with, we worked alongside the wonderful Kids Planet team to come up with a design that would not only be enjoyable, but a design that would also include features that are beneficial for early years, education.
At Newby Leisure, we understand the importance of balancing education with play when we begin to construct our playgrounds. They also require longevity; hence the high quality of timber and surfacing options utilised throughout!
Within this space, we incorporated elements of messy play, nature play, construction play and more. To ensure that we covered these elements, we added specific, freestanding resources to suit each one.
For example, for messy play, we included a Mud Kitchen. These are ideal for children as they allow them to undertake a variety of role-play activities. Not forgetting to mention that messy play fosters curiosity, imagination and exploration.
With it being a new-build nursery, the blank canvas allowed our skilled projects team to inject their personality and creative landscaping flare into the project. With this, we included a water play stream, digging pits, different surfacing options, rustic features, timber resources and plenty more!
We laid a path of interest within this design. This includes a selection of different surfacing materials, to create a visual of varied colours and textures. Perfect for sensory purposes!
One of the main focal features involved is a water play stream. These are fantastic for building muscle strength, as children use the pump to push water along the stream.
Another physical play addition to this natural playground design is the fallen clamber tree. These offer a rustic and natural feel to the playground, as well as offering multiple benefits for toddlers.
Not only are our fallen clamber trees beneficial, but they also present a challenge to the children, as they aim to climb the structure to the best of their ability.
Throughout the rest of this educational play environment, we introduced plantation. There are many great benefits of planters and nature areas as they stimulate a child's imagination and develop their enthusiasm for the outdoors.
