A playground on a roof top? Check!
Recently, one of our Newby Leisure site teams have completed this rustic playground design on the roof top of a Kids Planet Nursery, in Sale, Manchester.
With it being a brand-new build, we have taken a completely blank canvas and transformed it into a natural playground design for early years education. Outdoor play for toddlers has never looked so good!
As the play space is on the roof of the nursery building, it was decided to keep the design fairly simple, with nothing too heavy installed, for safety reasons.
Incorporated into this unique space is artificial grass surfacing, featuring two grass mounds so toddlers can clamber and crawl on soft ground.
There is a corner filled with certified tree bark, containing multiple timber play resources and a rustic archway entrance. The resources included are a super-size mud kitchen, weights and scales table and a two-bed planter; enabling children to engage in messy play, discover different weights and measures, and also pot, plant, and dig! Plenty of educational benefits for the little ones!
Surrounding the large, grassed area, is timber planters with tall tree branches in each to generate a natural look and feel. On those branches are individual hooks, to allow the nursery to hang decorations such as bunting, or fairy lights.
We can't wait to return to Kids Planet, Sale, later on this year to complete another playground design, but this time, it will be on the ground!
