Physical Play

Outdoor EYFS Playground Design - Old Leake Primary & Nursery School, Boston

A fun-filled playground design, broken up into different categories of play. The children of Old Leake have endless opportunities of outdoor play and learning ahead of them!

Working alongside the wonderful teachers, together, we decided to part each genre of play using contrasting surfaces – adding great colours and textures to the playground.

Role play, construction play, physical play and water play, there is not much that this exciting scheme doesn’t have!

Clamber Stack Fun!

Taking centre stage of the playground is a clamber stack, encouraging physical activity during play time. Children will love to clamber and climb up this robust structure, improving their physical ability whilst doing so.

Laid with care, the clamber stack is situated on a bed of artificial grass with a block paved border, creating a soft-cushioned fall.

Artificial grass was the chosen surfacing as it is durable and hard-wearing, which is great for areas that are intensively used.

Endless Play Opportunities...

In other areas, surfacing options chosen include new pour and bonded rubber mulch, each chosen to suit which resources would be in those areas.

These areas include opportunities for children to engage in sand play, storytelling, role play activities and so much more, thanks to their new timber play resources.
