Learning through play was the main target when designing this outdoor play area, alongside the teachers at Ermine Primary Academy.
Children will develop a variety of important life skills as they get stuck into the huge selection of play provided in this scheme!
It is always a good idea to add a splash of colour to your school playground. Ermine have done just that by incorporating a Coloured Shelter into their scheme.
Children can use Newby Leisure’s Coloured Shelters to act out role play activities or read a book and teachers can take advantage of the shelter for outdoor lessons.
The large lexan windows in a variety of different colours, add sensory values as natural light shines through and brings the product to life.
Complete with a polycarbonate Lexan roof, our shelters offer a point of difference to any playground and are perfect for all-year-round use.
When generating this natural playground design alongside the teachers at Ermine Primary Academy, together, we wanted to create an area that offered a variety of play to increase early years development.
To achieve this, we decided to include a huge selection of our timber play resources to cover all areas of play.
Featuring a Builders Yard for construction play, a H Shaped Water Wall for water play, a Mini Adventure Trail for physical play and also a Weaving Panel for imaginative and sensory play.
Along with many other freestanding resources, we also included storage and shelter to maintain a tidy playground.
Planters are excellent for boosting a sense of community in schools.
Children love to watch the magic happen as they await their self-planted flowers and vegetables to sprout.
With promoting social engagement in mind, the children at Ermine will spend more time building relationships with friends as they spend more time surrounded by nature.
As well as this, another benefit of planters is that they stimulate a child’s imagination and help them to develop further enthusiasm for the great outdoors.
At Newby Leisure, we understand that safeguarding is a priority for any school.
So, we decided to add bespoke fencing in selected areas of the play area to provide an attractive, natural backstop.
As well as fencing, we also added a timber archway to construct a magical, playground entrance.
One of the best safety surfacing options in any school or nursery outdoor play space.
As well as being an attractive and natural looking option, it is also durable and hard-wearing. Meaning it is long-lasting and suitable for endless, outdoor play.
