St Theresa's Primary School in Leeds were looking for a playground design that incorporated natural play with challenging elements.
To make the most of the spacious area, Newby Leisure outlined a plan for presentation to school teachers highlighting the finer details of how we could maximise the potential of play.
From the first visit, it was apparent the team could get really creative and design a playground where children could engage, create and develop their outdoor education.
After consideration of the surfacing options available, the combination of wet pour safety surfacing and artificial grass were ideal for the install.
Alongside the block paving, we had great foundations to then develop the area with Newby Leisure's signature natural design.
Combining the rustic effect of our Woodcutters Cottage, Planters and Timber Matrix, the team decided it would also be suitable for the scheme to include a play stream - this would help develop the children 's inquisitive natures.
Our streams offer children a tranquil area for children to relax, or perhaps read a book, whilst encouraging water play activities.
To keep in-fitting with the play area's natural feel, sandpits, digging pits and rustic huts were included in the space. To allow a challenging epicentre to the scheme, a clamber tunnel was installed too.
Completing the project with our coloured shelter, this is a play area that will keep children entertained for years to come.
