Together, Newby Leisure and the staff of Hawthorn Tree, designed and created a natural, outdoor play area for children to enjoy at play time.
Including a water play stream and cobble beach as the focal feature, toddlers will spend hours engaging in social play and developing gross and fine motor skills in their brand new playground.
Every outdoor play area needs a storytelling area!
The teachers at Hawthorn Tree wanted to create an outdoor area where children can enjoy reading whilst surrounded by nature to help children collaborate in social reading.
Complete with a Storytellers Chair and mini grass topped stools to accommodate multiple children, this outdoor reading space has been designed to capture a child’s imagination.
Teachers can now take literacy lessons outdoors to enhance early years development.
Newby Leisure’s Play Streams look fantastic in any early years setting.
Primary children can utilise their play stream as a tranquil place to relax or to undertake water play activities.
Complete with paving, a cobble beach and bespoke toddler bridge over the stream, it is an attractive feature for your school playground.
New playground surfacing has been installed in various areas of the natural playground design.
Artificial grass has been installed as it is durable and hard-wearing, making it suitable for many years of play!
As well as artificial grass, a new pour pathway and block paving has been installed in other areas. We use only the best quality materials for our surfacing, designed with longevity on mind.
Out with the old and in with the new, as a team we decided to replace the fencing around the shelter with new fencing and beams to freshen up the space.
Complete with timber play resources, the children at Hawthorn Tree can use this outdoor classroom to learn through play all year round, regardless of the weather!
