Natural Primary Playground Transformation - Sutton on Trent Primary School

Last year, Sutton-on-Trent Primary School came to Newby Leisure with ideas to renovate their outdoor play area. Recently, we took their wish list on board and completely transformed their large space into a great playground, with endless learning and play opportunities for early years education.

This design has been completed to offer a variety of play zones and interactive areas for the children to engage in multiple activities with friends, increasing social interaction skills as they do so.

Within the space, you will see cobbled beaches, rustic playhouses, timber stages and bridges, coloured shelters and a whole load of other surprises. There is plenty to keep the children entertained all day!

Keeping it Natural!

When undergoing the design process of this arrangement, it was decided to keep some of the existing grass and all of the trees so that the area would remain completely natural.

Alongside the existing grass, we added artificial grass in other areas, and different surface options for the rest. These surfacing options include certified tree bark, block paving and new pour.

From sensory play, role play, planting and potting, storage, and shelter to amplifying a child’s social skills, fine and gross motor skills, and many other educational benefits; this spectacular design covers pretty much everything!
