Natural Playground Transformation - Dunholme St Chads CE Primary School, Lincoln

Sand and water play are both fantastic elements of play to allow children to learn and build on multiple skills as they play.

When designing this outdoor play space alongside the staff at Dunholme, it was decided to include sandpits, as they generate the ideal place for socialisation, collaboration, and discussion at play time.

As well as sand, it was also decided to make water play a focal feature of this outdoor design. To do this, we installed a water play stream, which not only looks great, but also supplies endless educational benefits.

The main advantage being, increasing physical development. As children push and pump water along the stream, they are improving fine and gross motor skills, as well as physical ability.

The elements of sand and water play will provide the children of Dunholme with hours of educational fun!
