Non-stop fun is now at the epicentre of Whitehouse Primary School.

With the help from the wonderful teachers, Newby Leisure have transformed the school's outdoor area into a natural playground environment to help aid education.

With something for all children to enjoy, we have developed this unique and fulfilling play area to deliver fun for children for years to come.

Inclusive of multiple timber play resources, the teachers wanted to ensure that there was enough of a variety to keep all children entertained!

Water play, mark making, role play and construction; there is nothing this playground doesn’t have!

Imaginative Play

A Newby Leisure favourite, our Woodcutter’s Cottage makes an appearance in this educational environment!

Set into artificial grass to generate a fairy-tale atmosphere, multiple children can gather inside this robust resource as they build relationships and teamwork skills in the playground.

A coloured teepee with a bark surrounding, adds sensory values to the playground as natural sunlight shines through the coloured lexan, generating reflections on the ground. Children can enjoy this resource to read a book or create a den!

Four timber stools are also in the barked area, meaning children can gather round and enjoy storytelling with friends at play time.

Physical Play Fun!

To increase a child’s boy strength, there is no better resource than a clamber stack! Children will love to spend play time clambering and crawling around this robust apparatus.

The clamber stack is set into artificial grass, ensuring safety of the children as they use to ropes and climbing panels to undertake different levels of physical activity.

Teachers will love to incorporate the clamber stack into outdoor P.E. lessons!

A nature board walk is situated central to the playground, inspiring risk and challenge play as the children step up and down.

Not forgetting to mention the climbing wall fixed to the side of the building. Children will have so much fun climbing up this wall, building their upper body strength along the way!

Water Play Stream

Designed with longevity in mind, the children at Whitehouse will enjoy undertaking water play activities in the playground, gaining educational benefits whilst doing so.

Enhancing social skills and encouraging social cooperation, the teachers at Whitehouse will use water play all year round to help develop a child's education.

Newby Leisure’s trademark water play stream is set into block paving and features a cobble beach.

Although it is highly beneficial for education, the stream is also an attractive and eye-catching feature to the area.

Messy Creative Play

The main focus when designing this outdoor playground was to ensure that the children had a number of resources to use that would enhance their education.

With different chalkboards dotted around the grounds, children can work on their handwriting skills as they mark make and play games on the board.

Teachers can add these resources to their everyday curriculum and take lesson outdoors, helping the primary school children to develop their literacy and mathematics skills.

Other resources featured include a Mud Kitchen, Sandpit and Water Pump Station, allowing children to get messy as they learn through play.

Children will love making mud pies and potions at play time with friends. Early years development has never looked so good!
