Newby Leisure co-designed this natural play environment alongside the staff of Kids Planet, with a target of enhancing outdoor play in mind.
Incorporating different kinds of play into the scheme offers children the opportunity to experience contrasting sensory values.
By doing so, children can develop fine and gross motor skills as well as discover independence and positive self-esteem!
The staff at Winnington wanted to achieve a play area that included a sense of adventure. We think we have definitely succeeded in that department, don’t you?
To accomplish this, we designed and installed a bespoke playhouse to the outdoor area. This is something every young child should have in their school, they provide a great space for exercise, creativity, and imagination.
This fascinating design offers a visual difference due to the asymmetrical shaping and natural log features. A set of stairs are located at the front of the playhouse so children can climb to the top. Decking and fencing to make a balcony, surrounds the playhouse, creating a great space for children to undertake roleplay activities.
Our classic water play stream another focal feature of this playground.
The children of Kids Planet, Winnington can pump and pump until their hearts content as they watch the water trickle down the stream.
Our play streams are beneficial for physical fitness as the pumping is great for increasing muscle strength.
They are the ideal feature to any playground as they are designed with longevity in mind, meaning children can enjoy playing by the water stream for years to come!
A handmade, timber bridge sweeps over the water play stream so children can look down on the stream.
The bridge provides access over the water feature and leads you to the entrance of a barked area displaying timber play resources and tree stump stools.
As well as providing access, our handmade bridges can encourage social interaction, physical development, and role-play activities.
A brilliant safety surfacing option for any school or nursery setting is always artificial grass.
It is durable, hard-wearing and an attractive, natural looking solution.
We provide artificial grass in areas that are used intensively as it is long lasting, making it ideal for children to play on frequently.
It is easy to maintain and keep clean and it has a soft feel to it, so if children fall, they will be supported by a cushioned surface.
Surrounding the bespoke playhouse is a large sand pit, generating a beach like environment.
Children love to play in sand, especially in large groups. That's why our bespoke options are perfect for schools play areas.
Sand play is essential for developing large muscle skills as children dig, pour, sift, and scoop.
Eye-hand coordination and small muscle control also improves as children learn to manipulates and accessories.
